On the series’ premiere of Bravo’s newest reality show The Fashion Show, there was a mini-challenge where the designers had to create an interesting dress from just a plain black t-shirt. Some of them were quite interesting and then there were some that were just … not my cup of tea. I brought that up because I recently came across a line called complexgeometries and am loving what they’re offering. At first glance, it seems to be a line of basics with a twist but upon closer inspection, there is beautiful draping and the perfect amount of slouchiness that breathes life into what is thought to be an ordinary piece of clothing.

Because a lot of their clothing is oversized, it can fit a wide range of bodies, so if you want to own a piece, you don’t have to wonder if it will fit. I think its the perfect thing to throw on during those hot and humid days. You can accessorize however you see fit and still look effortlessly chic.

“Although comfort and wearability are key features of Complexgeometries, they are not the focus. The designs examine clothing as a consumer product and as a method of communication. By gently reshaping standard items of the contemporary wardrobe, Complexgeometries questions manufacturing processes, social roles and the emotional comfort provided by clothes. By using standard street wear as a starting point, the garments become implicated in the everyday lives that inspire them.”

Here’s the latest video for their a/w 09 collection. This is a line I’ll definitely be keeping my eye on.
