For the last few years, the 80s and 90s bodycon dresses have been all the rage, thanks largely in part to the re-emergence of the Herve Leger bandage dress. Now on red carpets all around the world, you are guaranteed to see at least one person weaing one. Because of the extreme unforgiving nature and its tendency to show every lump, bump and curve most people shy away. They say it takes a certain kind of woman to pull one off. So imagine the smile on my face when fashion’s current IT girl Beth Ditto went to Paris Fashion Week and stepped out in a Herve Leger bandage dress. All 200+ pounds of her, sitting beside fashion’s rich and fabulous, thoroughly representing for plus sized women all over the world.

Surely Beth is no stranger to making statements with her wardrobe decisions, whether on stage with her band or on the red carpet. She has been seen wearing lame bodysuits, biker shorts, and even just her bra and panties and you still can’t help but love her unwavering confidence. Given the two sneak peeks of her forthcoming collection at Evans, bodycon is the word we should all get used to.

I’m all for bodycon and its about time people realize fat girls do not wish to wear tents of clothing. Sure, sometimes I wish that this part was a little smaller and this part was a little bigger but who doesn’t? That definitely does not mean that I will not walk around in a body clinging dress for the world to see. I plan to do just that at Full-Figured Fashion Week this June.

When I laid eyes on her spread in the first issue of LOVE magazine, I was immediately in need of the bandage dress she wore. I set out to get one custom created on etsy and I was finally sent an image of what it looks like. Not be purposely suspenseful but I’m dedicating an entire entry to it so I’ll wait until it arrives to fully squee with glee.

Are there any styles that you wish to see for plus sizes?
